MAGDALENA STARZECKI

Born in 1980. Graduated from Cracow University of Technology in Architecture and Urban Design. Currently lives in Singapore and works in the fields of painting and designing.

Background in Design opened for her doors to travel and work in several countries and continents. Living in different cultures and environments provides constant flow of new, exotic inspirations recorded like photography from everyday life, which are used as a structural base for her works. Painting expresses unusual objects, figures or animals, architecture, sculpture and broad spectrum
of nature.

Her relationship with the world is translated into the language of art. Each painting is often subordinated to a single motive extracted from the wider context. And it is related to personal experiences, feelings and analysis. Vivid colors assembled in her works do not represent nature
in a direct way but they are her own individual interpretation. She believes that power of color
can express her feelings about a subject rather than plainly mirror the reality.

Creates own world by new hue, composition, scale and simplified forms, by giving a deeper meaning, playing with subconscious, actuating and invoking new feelings. Emotional aspect refers to fast changing, contemporary world where limits are constantly pushed forward. Common modifications and changes, co-existing with loss and loneliness, lead to reflections and consciousness of life
in harmony with the surrounding wildlife and nature.

Constantly experiments and develops her techniques, paints with oils and acrylics mainly.
